Description

Using Action in Psychotherapy
A weekend experiential workshop exploring the use of Action Methods in all aspects of Psychotherapeutic practice

Susie Taylor is the co-founder of the British Psychodrama Association and has run and developed Psychodrama trainings in the UK and Europe for over 30 years. In 2003 she recieved a Lifetime Achievement Award from the BPA.

About the Workshop
Psychodrama technique and Action Methods include a rich variety of structured experiential methods used in organisational, educational, community and therapeutic settings. This may include group building exercises and other activities such as group problem solving, developing and rehearsing new skills, interactive drama techniques, values clarification exercises and activities aimed at promoting new decisions and personal change. The methods are intended to engage the whole person in mind, emotions, body and action.
This weekend will provide an introduction to Psychodrama techniques and Action Methods.

Additional Information
These two days will give participants the opportunity to explore Action Methods and the application to therapeutic practice. A theoretical overview of Moreno’s theory of child development will provide a basis for experiential exercises to deepen understanding and practice therapeutic integration. A focus on personal practice, experiential learning and self-discovery will inform the teaching over the course of the two days.

There will be an opportunity for discussion around the appropriate use of action methods technique with different client groups. This two-day workshop is designed as an introduction to the using action with therapeutic practice.

This workshop has been designed for practitioners, therapists and clinicians who wish to deepen their practice by developing knowledge and skills in embodied, action based exploratory pathways, which they can apply in therapeutic practice with clients.
