Services & Practice

Liam facilitates Experiential Groups  on counselling trainings for two WPF affiliated counselling agencies and tutors a module in Group Work Dynamics for one of them.

He directs a weekly psychodrama psychotherapy group on a therapeutic community within the prison service.

He also sees clients individually in private practice.

Areas of Special Interest

As a psychotherapist Liam enjoys working with groups and individuals dealing with a wide variety of psychological, emotional and relationship issues and challenges.

He has experience and particular interest in working with people who have experienced severe and enduring mental illness, people with an offending history and those training to be counsellors or psychotherapists.

Liam is very interested in the indefinable nature of psychotherapy, and how best to preserve its value and quality in cultures more concerned with its evidence base.

Qualifications & Experience

Liam trained in both psychodrama and group analysis at the London Centre for Psychodrama, gaining a Diploma in Individual & Group Psychodrama & Group Analytic Psychotherapy.

He has also gained a Diploma in Community Education from Moray House College, Edinburgh; and a Certificate in Therapeutic Community Practice, from the Royal College of Nursing, London.

Liam conducted a group analytic psychotherapy group for outpatients at Goodmayes Psychiatric Hospital 1994-1997; and at Waveny Counselling Service, Lowestoft, 1998-2008.

He has conducted Experiential Groups as part of trainings in counselling, using both group analytic and psychodrama models, since 1995.

Liam managed a town centre, direct access day service for people with severe and enduring mental illness 1998-2006. Prior to this he had worked with this client group for eight years in residential therapeutic community settings.
