Services & Practice

I am dual trained as a psychodrama psychotherapist and in person centred psychotherapy. This means that in my work as a psycho-dramatist my approach is underpinned by my passion for person-centred values and philosophy. I work with both individuals and groups. I have practised in a range of therapeutic settings since 2003. I now work in private practice in Sheffield. I also work as an English teacher and have done so since 1996.

My core belief is that all people have the ability to know what works for them and what doesn’t. Therefore I see my role as that of a companion rather than a guide on our therapeutic journey. I have worked with people with a variety of experiences. For example, people experiencing panic attacks, anxiety and depression; people who have been bereaved and individuals who are experiencing relationship difficulties. I work with survivors of sexual abuse and violence and people who are hearing voices. Also I have worked with people suffering from addiction, issues concerning sexuality and gender identity. As you see, many concerns that cause human beings pain and discomfort. Through our work together, we will explore ways that you may become more fully and authentically yourself; whatever you conceive that to be.

I am a big fan of a piece of writing called, ‘The Desiderata’ (anonymous author) and running in the park listening to my ipod.
